ELYRIA, OH — Kimberly A. Wooley, 53, a cosmetology instructor at Lorain County Joint Vocational School, has been charged with obstructing official business following an arrest by the Ohio State Highway Patrol on June 28, 2025.
According to court records, Wooley was taken into custody at approximately 11:03 p.m. and booked into the Lorain County Jail. She was released on bond less than two hours later. The case was filed in Elyria Municipal Court, where she is scheduled for a pretrial hearing on July 16. The charge is a second-degree misdemeanor.
Public records show that Wooley resides at the same address in Elyria as Robert V. LaManna Sr., 52, who was arrested by the same Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper approximately 11 hours later.
LaManna was taken into custody on June 29 at 10:30 a.m. and charged in a separate case in Elyria Municipal Court with felony improper handling of firearms in a motor vehicle, two counts of felony operating a vehicle while impaired (OVI), and two misdemeanor traffic violations. His blood alcohol content was recorded at .108, and a firearm was located inside the vehicle. He has three prior OVI convictions.
Both arrests were made by Trooper Hannah Oehlke of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Post 47. Both defendants were released on personal recognizance bonds and placed under court supervision. Preliminary hearings for LaManna’s cases have been waived, and his felony charges have been bound over for review by the Lorain County Grand Jury.
As of July 1, Lorain County JVS has not released a public statement regarding Wooley’s employment status. Both cases remain active in Elyria Municipal Court.
