Targeted Home Invasion Leads to Murder Charge in Lorain

LORAIN — A 24-year-old Lorain man has been formally charged with aggravated murder in connection with the November 2024 killing of Leonard McCall following what investigators describe as a targeted home invasion.

According to the Lorain Police Department, officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of West 14th Street around 9:00 p.m. on November 25, 2024, after reports of gunfire. When officers arrived, they found 39-year-old Leonard McCall suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. McCall was pronounced dead at the scene.

After a months-long investigation, Lorain detectives identified Donte Jamar Parker, 24, as the primary suspect. On August 22, 2025, an arrest warrant was issued for Parker, charging him with:

  • Aggravated Murder — Ohio Revised Code § 2903.01 (Felony 1)
  • Felonious Assault — Ohio Revised Code § 2903.11
  • Aggravated Burglary — Ohio Revised Code § 2911.11

The warrant was served while Parker was already in custody at the Lorain County Jail on unrelated charges. According to jail records, Parker is currently being held on a $2,000,000 bond related to this case.

Police said the investigation revealed the shooting occurred during a targeted home invasion, in which shots were fired at two residents, fatally striking McCall.

In a statement released Tuesday, the Lorain Police Department confirmed the case remains open and urged anyone with information to contact detectives.

“This investigation remains active. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Detective Bureau at (440) 204-2105,” the department stated.

No further details have been released at this time.
