Lorain — During the 5 p.m. hour Wednesday, Lorain fire and police responded to St. Anthony’s on East Erie for a kayaker reported in distress offshore. Lorain’s Marine 1 located the man, brought him aboard, and returned him safely to shore.
Bay Village — Around 9 p.m. Wednesday, a woman on a paddleboard was reported in distress off the Bay Village shoreline. Bay Village and Rocky River police responded, along with a U.S. Coast Guard boat from Cleveland Harbor. After roughly 15 minutes of searching, rescue teams located the woman and brought her safely back to shore.
