ELYRIA — Elyria police are investigating an armed robbery reported Monday night at the Family Dollar on Lake Avenue.
The robbery happened around 8:14 p.m. at the store, located at 401 Lake Ave., according to Capt. Bill Lantz of the Elyria Police Department.

The suspect was described as a light-skinned male, about 6 feet tall with a slim build. He was reportedly wearing black clothing and a ski mask.
Lantz also confirmed that another reported incident reported elsewhere Monday evening was not related to the Family Dollar robbery. He said the second incident was more of a domestic situation involving people who knew each other.
