ELYRIA, Ohio — New photos show extensive damage left behind after a large fire tore through a hotel under construction near Midway Mall early Monday morning.

The fire broke out around 2 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17, at the Home2 Suites by Hilton construction site on Travelers Lane. Firefighters from several departments responded to the scene. No injuries were reported. (Lorain Daily)

The four-story hotel had been under construction for nearly two years and was expected to include roughly 150 rooms. The cause of the fire had not been released as of Monday morning. (Lorain Daily)

Photos taken following the fire show significant portions of the structure heavily damaged, with collapsed building materials, shattered windows and exposed sections of the interior.
