After Two-Month Disappearance, Elyria Woman Now Faces Two Felony Charges

Criminal charges are moving forward in two felony cases involving a 20-year-old Elyria woman whose name made headlines earlier this year after she vanished for weeks during an ongoing police investigation.

Petra Pintar now faces one count of failure to comply with a police order and another for obstructing justice. Both are third-degree felonies filed in Lorain County Common Pleas Court.

Authorities say the charges stem from separate events in early February, just days before Pintar was reported missing by her family. She later turned herself in nearly two months later.

The first charge relates to a February 1 traffic stop. According to police, a vehicle believed to be driven by Pintar sped away after being pulled over, ran a stop sign, and continued at high speeds through residential areas. The pursuit was called off for safety reasons, but an investigation followed.

The second case unfolded after officers arrived at Pintar’s apartment on February 3 to conduct a welfare check. Police say they discovered Donte Parker—identified as Pintar’s boyfriend—hiding inside the unit. He was arrested but escaped custody before he could be taken from the scene. Parker has not been located.

Shortly after that incident, Pintar also went missing. Her disappearance prompted concern from family and attention from law enforcement. For nearly two months, there were no confirmed sightings.

That changed on April 3, when Pintar walked into the Elyria Police Department and turned herself in on an outstanding warrant. She was booked into the Lorain County Jail.

Since then, prosecutors have filed charges in both cases. The obstructing justice case was transferred from municipal court to common pleas on April 30, with bond set at $125,000 and GPS monitoring required if released. The second case, involving the traffic stop, was filed May 8. Pintar entered a not guilty plea on May 15 and received an additional bond of $2,500 cash and $2,500 personal recognizance. A court order also requires her to submit a DNA sample before any release.

A bond review and pretrial hearing are scheduled for May 16.

Pintar was being held on bond as of the latest court filings.
