An Elyria police officer arrested a Strongsville man on November 15 after a traffic stop led to the discovery of suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia. The incident occurred just before 11 p.m. near the intersection of Kerstetter Way and Broad Street.
According to the police report, Officer Lewis observed a blue Ford Focus fail to signal and commit multiple turning violations in an area known for narcotics activity. The driver, identified as Nicholas S. Burrow, admitted he did not have a valid driver’s license and appeared nervous during the stop.
Burrow told officers he had traveled to Elyria earlier in the evening after arranging an online meet-up through a dating platform called Sniffies. He stated he had picked up another man on Lowell Street, attempted to rent a room at the Camelot Inn, and later returned the man to the area before driving away. Officers noted the statement as part of documenting Burrow’s movements before the stop.
While speaking with Burrow, Officer Lewis saw a small baggie on the floor near the driver’s right foot. Police say Burrow acknowledged that the bag contained cocaine. After removing him from the vehicle, officers recovered multiple items, including 8.7 grams of suspected cocaine, 6.4 grams of suspected methamphetamine, and a glass smoking pipe with burn residue. Field tests on scene returned positive results.
Burrow was taken into custody and transported to the Lorain County Jail. He is facing charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and improper use of turn signals. He was held without bond pending his initial court appearance.
The case remains under review by the Elyria Municipal Court.
