Elyria Man Arrested After Armed Robbery on Barbra Street

ELYRIA — A 24-year-old Elyria man is in custody after a woman reported being robbed at gunpoint on Barbra Street Friday evening.

According to police radio traffic from June 13, 2025, the Elyria Police Department responded to the area after receiving a report that a female had been robbed by two males, one of whom was reportedly armed with a firearm. The suspects were last seen leaving the scene in a white Nissan or Honda.

A short time later, officers from Elyria and Lorain located a vehicle matching the description near 28th Street and Seneca Road. One suspect was taken into custody during the stop.

Jail records show that Shontez Terryon Stubbs, 24, was booked into the Lorain County Jail at 6:33 p.m. the same evening. He has been charged with one count of aggravated robbery. According to those records, the offense is listed as having occurred at 6:49 p.m., shortly after his arrest time. He is being held without bond and is classified as a maximum-security inmate.

Stubbs is scheduled to appear in Elyria Municipal Court on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.

No additional information has been released by authorities regarding the second suspect or whether any stolen property or weapons were recovered. The investigation remains ongoing.
