LORAIN COUNTY – A Lorain County grand jury has indicted 24-year-old Jacob Rosado of Elyria on charges connected to the drowning death of 16-year-old Vincent Pabon, according to court records and reports from Cleveland 19 News.
Rosado is charged with involuntary manslaughter and furnishing alcohol to a minor. The indictment follows an investigation into Pabon’s death earlier this year after his body was recovered from the Black River near Elyria.
Authorities said Rosado and Pabon had been drinking near the river the night before the teen disappeared. Rosado later went to the Elyria Police Department and told officers his friend might have drowned.
Rosado had previously faced charges of tampering with evidence and pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor, to which he pleaded not guilty at an October 16 arraignment. The new indictment adds the manslaughter and alcohol-related counts.
He remains held in the Lorain County Jail as prosecutors move forward with the expanded case. A future court hearing is expected, though no date has yet been published in the public docket.
