An Elyria man has pleaded guilty to multiple felony charges related to the sexual abuse and exploitation of children, according to court records and local news sources.
Eugene Arroyo, 62, entered a guilty plea in Lorain County Common Pleas Court to four counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person. These charges stem from a months-long investigation that uncovered child sexual abuse material in Arroyo’s possession between February 12 and May 23, 2024.
In addition to the pornography charges, Arroyo had previously been indicted on five counts of rape and two counts of gross sexual imposition involving minors. Those charges were tied to allegations of child molestation occurring during the same time frame.
According to authorities, Arroyo was initially arrested in May 2024 and has remained in custody at the Lorain County Jail. His bond was set at $100,000. During the investigation, officials said evidence pointed to both physical abuse and the possession of illicit digital material involving children.
This case was first brought to public attention when additional obscenity charges were filed against Arroyo in September 2024. At the time, law enforcement noted that the nature of the offenses indicated a pattern of predatory behavior and exploitation. The Lorain County Prosecutor’s Office later confirmed that digital evidence played a key role in securing the guilty plea.
Sentencing for Arroyo has not yet been scheduled, but he faces a substantial prison term. Under Ohio law, each count of pandering obscenity involving a minor is a second-degree felony, carrying a possible sentence of two to eight years per count.
Officials have not released further details about the victims to protect their identities. The case remains a sobering reminder of the continued efforts required to protect children from exploitation.
I hope he gets what’s coming to him!!
