Elyria Woman Charged with Human Trafficking a Minor for Sex

LORAIN COUNTY, OHIO — An Elyria woman has been indicted on multiple felony charges in connection to a human trafficking case involving a teen girl. Emily G. Andrewski, 19, was arrested on April 18, 2025, following the issuance of a warrant related to an indictment filed on April 17 in Lorain County Common Pleas Court.

According to public court records, Andrewski faces four charges: trafficking in persons—commercial sex acts (a first-degree felony), compelling prostitution (first-degree felony), unlawful sexual conduct with a minor (fourth-degree felony), and contributing to the unruliness or delinquency of a child (first-degree misdemeanor). The offenses are alleged to have occurred on April 18.

The indictment and subsequent filings state that a warrant for Andrewski’s arrest was issued upon the filing of charges. The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office served the warrant, and the defendant was taken into custody.

At the arraignment on April 24, Andrewski entered a plea of not guilty. The court continued her bond at $20,000 personal recognizance and $20,000 cash, with a requirement that she submit a DNA specimen prior to release. Judge D. Chris Cook is presiding over the case.

Court records show that the defendant was appointed legal counsel and has waived her right to a speedy trial. Several pretrial hearings have been held, and both parties have submitted multiple filings, including discovery requests, responses, and motions.

On May 20, the prosecution filed subpoenas for medical records from Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children, and Lorain County Children Services, to be presented at the next scheduled hearing on June 23.

As of the most recent docket entry, Andrewski remains in custody at the Lorain County Jail. Her total bond listed through jail records is $250,000 cash/surety.

This case is ongoing.
