Update 8:29 pm: The State Highway Patrol later confirmed the driver of the car, 61-year-old Allan D. Toothman of LaGrange, died from his injuries. Troopers said Toothman was driving the 2006 Buick that went through the stop sign on Parsons Road before striking the southbound bus on State Route 301. He was taken to the hospital following the crash but did not survive.
A Keystone Local School District bus overturned Tuesday morning in Carlisle Township after being struck by a car that failed to yield at a stop sign, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Elyria Post.
Troopers said the crash happened at 9:36 a.m. at the intersection of State Route 301 and Parsons Road. Investigators determined that a 2006 Buick traveling east on Parsons Road did not stop at the posted sign and hit the southbound school bus on SR 301, causing the bus to overturn.
No students were on board at the time. One aide was riding with the bus driver, and OSHP said both were wearing seat belts. The aide and driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Buick sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital by EMS.
Highway Patrol officials confirmed the crash scene has since been cleared. However, a separate and unrelated crash in the same area caused additional traffic issues late Tuesday morning.
The Keystone Local School District shared a message with families, noting that while no students were involved, the district is supporting the staff members injured in the crash. The district also advised that a small number of bus routes could experience delays or changes throughout the day as transportation crews adjust schedules.
