Larkmoor Elementary Placed on Temporary Lockdown Monday

Lorain City Schools says Larkmoor Elementary School was placed on a temporary lockdown Monday, March 16, after a situation in the surrounding area required a police presence nearby.

District officials said the school entered lockdown out of an abundance of caution while the situation outside the building was being assessed. During the lockdown, all doors were immediately secured and no one was permitted to enter or exit the building as part of the district’s safety procedures.

According to the district, the Lorain Police Department investigated the situation and later determined it was safe for the lockdown to be lifted.
