LORAIN — A 32-year-old Lorain man has been indicted on multiple felony charges following allegations that he sexually assaulted a child under the age of 13 in late 2023, according to court records.
On April 24, a Lorain County grand jury returned a five-count indictment against Lester Foster (Case No. 25CR113633). The charges include two counts of rape, two counts of sexual battery, and one count of gross sexual imposition. Court documents confirm that sentence-enhancing specifications have been added to the rape and sexual battery charges.
The charges are listed as follows:
- Count 1: Rape, Ohio Revised Code 2907.02(A)(1)(b), first-degree felony with specification
- Count 2: Rape, ORC 2907.02(A)(1)(b), first-degree felony with specification
- Count 3: Sexual Battery, ORC 2907.03(A)(5), second-degree felony with specification
- Count 4: Sexual Battery, ORC 2907.03(A)(1), second-degree felony with specification
- Count 5: Gross Sexual Imposition, ORC 2907.05(A)(4), third-degree felony
An arrest warrant was issued the same day the indictment was filed. Foster was taken into custody by the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office on May 16, according to a sheriff’s return filed with the court.
Later that day, he appeared in court and was granted release on a combination bond: $15,000 cash and $15,000 personal recognizance. As a condition of release, Foster must submit a DNA sample per ORC 2901.07 and is prohibited from having contact with the alleged victim or the victim’s family. Records show the bond was posted the same day.
The Lorain County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that the investigation began after a referral from Lorain County Children Services. Chief Assistant Prosecutor Chris Pierre stated the incident occurred in November 2023, and that the defendant and victim were known to one another. The legal age of consent in Ohio is 16.
The case is assigned to Lorain County Common Pleas Judge Melissa Kobasher. A trial date has not yet been scheduled.
