No Arrests Yet in Tower Boulevard Double Homicide: Police Ask for Help

Lorain, Ohio — Days after a deadly double shooting on Tower Boulevard, Lorain Police have confirmed that no arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified in the case.

The shooting happened around 5:08 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025, in the parking lot of 1139 Tower Boulevard. When officers arrived, they found two males lying in the lot with apparent gunshot wounds. Despite immediate life-saving efforts and emergency medical assistance, both victims later died from their injuries.

The victims have been identified as 21-year-old Larry Moore Jr. of Lorain and 17-year-old J’Zier Gaddy of Avon. Moore was pronounced dead at the scene. Gaddy was first taken to a local hospital, then transported by LifeFlight to Cleveland MetroHealth, where he later died.

This tragic shooting has rocked both the Lorain and Avon communities, especially given Gaddy’s age and the broad daylight nature of the attack. According to the Lorain Police Department’s April 14 press release, detectives are continuing to gather evidence, interview witnesses, and work to determine what led to the deadly encounter. But as of now, no one has been charged.

This is the second update from the department following the initial announcement over the weekend. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward, stressing that even anonymous tips can help solve the case. Community members with details are encouraged to call the Criminal Investigations Bureau at (440) 204-2105.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims,” the department said in its public statement. “We ask the community for their continued cooperation and support as we seek justice on their behalf.”

Lorain Daily will continue to follow this story and provide updates as more information becomes available.
