ODOT Announces I-90 Lane Closures Near Route 57 in Lorain County

Drivers traveling through Lorain County on Interstate 90 can expect overnight lane closures and a temporary traffic shift near state Route 57 as construction work continues this week.

According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, evening lane closures will take place on I-90 eastbound and westbound from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. during the week of March 23. The closures are part of ongoing work to move the median barrier wall as part of the I-90 reconstruction project.

In addition to the overnight closures, ODOT says traffic changes are planned midweek. On Wednesday, March 25, westbound traffic on I-90 from state Route 57 to the Ohio Turnpike will be shifted to the outside shoulder. Eastbound traffic will also be affected, with vehicles between state Route 611 and state Route 83 shifted to the outside shoulder.

The work is tied to a larger reconstruction project along I-90 in Lorain County. While ODOT has not specified how long this particular traffic configuration will remain in place, the changes are part of ongoing construction efforts in the area.

It is not known at this time whether additional lane restrictions or traffic pattern changes will be announced beyond this update.

Drivers are advised to use caution in construction zones, expect possible delays during overnight hours, and remain alert for changing traffic patterns. Additional project details are available through ODOT’s project page.
