Police activity on Camden Avenue near East 31st Street drew attention Monday morning after officers taped off an empty lot containing a parked vehicle. The property, believed to be city-owned or managed through a Lorain revitalization program, sits on a low-traffic stretch of Camden just south of Day’s Dam.
Scanner traffic around 10:15 a.m. referenced a unit reporting “‘124’on the trunk.” While that phrase has sparked speculation online, its meaning has not been confirmed by police, and code systems vary between departments. A source monitoring radio traffic said they believed a body may have been found, but could not confirm it with certainty.
When contacted at the scene, officers would only say that an investigation was underway.
Comments on Facebook indicated concern from nearby residents, with some claiming the scene was close to their homes.
At this time, no official statement has been issued by Lorain police regarding the nature of the investigation.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
