The Lorain Police Department has confirmed the identity of the second victim in Friday’s deadly shooting on Tower Boulevard. Seventeen-year-old J’Zier Gaddy, a resident of Lorain, has died from injuries sustained during the incident.
The shooting occurred around 5 p.m. on April 11, 2025, in the parking lot of a commercial area on the 1100 block of Tower Boulevard. When officers arrived, they found two males unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds. One of them, 21-year-old Larry Moore, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gaddy was critically wounded and transported to Mercy Health. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later flown by LifeFlight to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, where he passed away later that evening.
Authorities say a person believed to be connected to the shooting was detained at the scene, but no charges have been filed as of the most recent reports. Police have not released any additional information regarding suspects, possible motives, or the events that led to the shooting.
The Lorain Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau is actively investigating the case as a homicide. They continue to urge anyone with information to come forward and contact them at (440) 204-2105.
This marks one of the most serious incidents of violence in Lorain this year, and it has left the community searching for answers.
For those who missed the initial coverage, the first victim, Larry Moore, was a 21-year-old also from Lorain. His death was confirmed by the Lorain Daily on April 13. The shooting took place in broad daylight and drew significant law enforcement presence to the area.
Authorities have not said whether Moore and Gaddy knew each other or what the nature of their interaction was before the shooting. No further updates about the detained individual or any charges have been announced.
As of now, both victims have been publicly identified, but many questions remain about what led to the fatal exchange of gunfire.
