Lorain, OH – Lorain authorities are investigating a shooting incident that occurred on West Sixth Street early Saturday morning. The official accident report details the event, which took place around 4:06 AM EDT on March 29, 2025, in the parking lot of 200 West Sixth Street.
According to the report, an altercation led to an exchange of gunfire. During this exchange, a bullet struck the driver of a gray 2005 Toyota Camry, identified as 31-year-old William Evander Cummings, in the head. Consequently, Mr. Cummings lost control of the vehicle. The car then went off the road at 203 West Sixth Street and struck a utility pole.
Paramedics transported the injured Mr. Cummings to Mercy Regional medical facility for treatment. Sugar Ridge Towing later towed the disabled vehicle.
Furthermore, the accident report indicates that the Detective Bureau actively investigated this shooting on Saturday.
