Suspects Identified in Lorain County Crash Following 100 MPH Police Pursuit

LORAIN COUNTY, OHIO — Three Michigan men have been identified as suspects in a high-speed police pursuit that ended in multiple crashes, arrests, and an ongoing search for a fourth individual who fled on foot.

According to law enforcement booking records, Airten Adkins, 25, of Detroit; Davon Harris, 21, of Detroit; and Trevor Averiette, 22, of Farmington, were taken into custody following a Wednesday morning pursuit involving a red Dodge Durango and a white Dodge Charger.

The pursuit, which began earlier in the day, reportedly reached speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour and traveled through multiple communities, including Lorain, Amherst, and Elyria. The Ohio State Highway Patrol, Lorain County Sheriff’s Office, Lorain Police Department, and Amherst Police Department were all involved in the pursuit.

Several crash scenes were reported along the route. Near Route 58 and Leavitt Road, one of the suspect vehicles reportedly collided with both a highway patrol cruiser and another patrol vehicle. A major multi-vehicle crash occurred at Meister and Leavitt, where two individuals were arrested at gunpoint. A separate three-car accident was later confirmed by state troopers at Oak Point Road. Emergency responders, including LifeCare EMS, were dispatched to assist victims. Among those injured was a pregnant woman. The total number of injuries remains unconfirmed.

Adkins, Harris, and Averiette were booked into the Lorain County Jail. Each faces a combination of traffic and criminal charges. All three remain held without bond as of the latest report. Booking records indicate that one of the individuals fled the scene on foot near the Apple Orchard development. Authorities continued searching the area into the evening.

Court records show that charges have been filed in Lorain Municipal Court. Adkins faces charges including receiving stolen property, failure to comply with a police order, and multiple traffic violations. Harris is charged with receiving stolen property. Averiette is charged with fleeing from police, receiving stolen property, and numerous traffic-related offenses.
