SHEFFIELD LAKE — Authorities are investigating the deaths of a man and woman found inside a Cove Beach Avenue home Saturday afternoon in what officials say appears to be a murder-suicide.
Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Cove Beach Avenue shortly before 4 p.m. for a report of an injured woman. When they entered the residence, they discovered both individuals deceased. According to police, the woman had suffered a gunshot wound, and the man appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot.
No names have been released at this time. The Lorain County Coroner’s Office confirmed that two bodies were removed from the scene and stated that no outside suspects are being sought. The incident remains under investigation.
County records list the owners of the home as Scott and Shari Liles. Neighbors reported that the couple had lived in the area for many years. Several agencies responded to the scene, and police activity in the neighborhood lasted into the evening hours.
No further details about the events leading up to the deaths have been disclosed. Investigators have not commented on a possible motive or timeline.
