UPDATE: Lorain Police Confirm Fatal Shooting on Tower Blvd — One Dead, One Hospitalized
Lorain, Ohio — The Lorain Police Department has confirmed that a fatal shooting occurred in the parking lot of 1139 Tower Boulevard at approximately 5:08 p.m. on Friday, April 11.
According to an official statement from Capt. Jacob A. Morris, officers arrived to find two male victims lying in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds. Both victims were unresponsive.
A 21-year-old male from Lorain was pronounced dead at the scene. The second male victim was transported by EMS to Mercy Health of Lorain, then flown via LifeFlight to Cleveland Metro Hospital for further treatment. His current condition is unknown at this time.
A male believed to be involved in the shooting was detained at the scene, but no charges have yet been filed.
Lorain Police have classified this as a homicide investigation, and the department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau is working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. They are urging anyone with information to come forward and contact them at (440) 204-2105.
