ELYRIA — Additional felony charges have been filed against an Elyria man already accused in connection with the drowning death of a 16-year-old boy last summer in the Black River.

Jacob Rosado, 24, is now facing multiple counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor and gross sexual imposition, according to publicly available court records.
The newest indictment was filed May 1, 2026, in Lorain County Common Pleas Court.
Rosado had already been charged in connection with the death of Vincent Pabon, 16, of Sheffield Lake, who died Aug. 7, 2025, near the East Falls area of the Black River in Elyria.
According to previously filed court records, Rosado has pleaded not guilty to charges tied to the drowning investigation, including involuntary manslaughter, tampering with evidence, pandering offenses and furnishing alcohol to an underage person.

Court records reviewed by Lorain Daily show a warrant was issued following the newest indictment and later executed by authorities. The records also show Rosado was ordered to comply with DNA collection requirements and is prohibited from having contact with minors as part of his bond conditions.
Additional bond conditions listed in court records include restrictions related to electronic communications and contact with minors. Court records further show Rosado is being held on a $500,000 cash bond in the Lorain County Jail.
Lorain County Common Pleas Court records show Rosado was arraigned earlier this month and additional pretrial proceedings have been scheduled.
As of Thursday, the charges in both cases remain pending and no conviction has been entered.
