Overnight I-90 Work to Impact Lorain County Traffic Through May 29

LORAIN COUNTY — Drivers traveling along I-90 this week should prepare for overnight lane closures and possible delays as part of the Ohio Department of Transportation’s I-90 Major Reconstruction Project.

According to information shared by Lorain County Sheriff Jack Hall and provided by ODOT’s North Central Ohio District 3, work will take place from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night from Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, May 29.

The affected area runs along I-90 eastbound and westbound from just west of state Route 83 to the Ohio Turnpike/state Route 2 split.

The scheduled traffic impacts are:

  • Tuesday, May 26, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
    • I-90 westbound right lane closed from just west of SR 83 to the SR 57 exit ramp.
    • The westbound left lane will remain open.
    • Ramps at SR 611, SR 254 and SR 57 will be closed.
  • Wednesday, May 27, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
    • I-90 westbound left lane closed from just west of SR 83 to the I-90/SR 2 split.
    • The westbound right lane will remain open.
    • Ramps at SR 611, SR 254 and SR 57 will remain open.
  • Thursday, May 28, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
    • I-90 eastbound left lane closed.
    • Eastbound traffic will be maintained in the right lane.
    • All ramps will remain open.
  • Friday, May 29, 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
    • I-90 eastbound left lane closed.
    • Eastbound traffic will be maintained in the right lane.
    • All ramps will remain open.

Motorists are encouraged to reduce speed, remain alert in work zones and plan for possible delays. The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office reminded drivers that highway crews, deputies, troopers, first responders and the traveling public will all be sharing the roadway during the project.
