Police report 30 visits this year
ELYRIA — A 42-year-old Elyria woman was arrested early Aug. 8 after police said she repeatedly called 911 and reported that someone was pointing a gun at her.
Renee Holland was charged with misuse of the 911 system, a fourth-degree misdemeanor, according to Lorain County Jail records.
Lorain County 911 received a call from Holland at approximately 2:42 a.m. and transferred it to Elyria police. According to the police report, Holland initially described an unknown problem before claiming someone had a gun and was pointing it at her.
Officers arrived at approximately 2:47 a.m. Police said it marked the 30th time in 2026 that officers had responded to the residence because of a disturbance.
Officers said they were unable to verify Holland’s account and left after speaking with her and other occupants. Holland called 911 again shortly afterward and repeated the claim, according to the report.
Police returned at approximately 3 a.m. and arrested Holland. Officers reported that she appeared intoxicated and provided conflicting accounts of what happened.
Holland was booked into the Lorain County Jail and released later that morning after posting bond, according to jail records.
