Cocaine, MDMA seized on Chestnut Street
ELYRIA — Maurice Moore was being held without bond Friday after Elyria police said a residential search uncovered crack cocaine, MDMA pills and other suspected evidence of drug activity.
Members of the police Special Response Team, Narcotics Unit and Detective Bureau executed a search warrant Aug. 7 at a residence in the 200 block of Chestnut Street. Police said the warrant was part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.
Moore was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Lorain County Jail, where he was awaiting his initial court appearance.
During the search, detectives reported finding about 51.5 grams of crack cocaine, 32 MDMA pills, a digital scale containing suspected drug residue and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Moore was charged with one first-degree felony count and one third-degree felony count each of trafficking in drugs and possession of drugs. He also faces a fifth-degree felony charge of possession of criminal tools.
The investigation remains ongoing.
