ELYRIA, Ohio — A woman was arrested Monday evening after Elyria police said she intentionally rammed multiple vehicles during a disturbance at the GetGo on Midway Boulevard.

Elyria police officers were dispatched to the GetGo at 559 Midway Blvd. at approximately 8:20 p.m. Sept. 1 after receiving a report that a woman driving a red Ford Focus was intentionally ramming a black Kia, according to a police report.

Police said the incident began with a verbal altercation inside the store between a woman and another person. The woman’s three juvenile children, who had remained outside in a black Kia, later got out of the vehicle and became involved in a verbal altercation with another woman, identified by police as Stephanie Carrion-Lee.

According to police, the dispute continued near the gas pumps before the woman and her three children returned to the Kia.

Police said Carrion-Lee was in the driver’s seat of the Ford Focus when the Kia pulled behind the vehicle so one of its occupants could retrieve an item that had been dropped on the ground.

Carrion-Lee then allegedly put the Ford in reverse and struck the driver’s side of the Kia, nearly striking a person who had exited the Kia to retrieve the item, according to the report.

The three juveniles then got out of the Kia and approached the driver’s side of the Ford in an attempt to get Carrion-Lee to stop, police said.

Carrion-Lee allegedly drove forward, circled the gas pumps and struck the Kia a second time, again nearly striking a person, according to police.

Police said Carrion-Lee then drove through the parking lot and struck a parked Chevrolet Silverado that had a passenger inside. She allegedly put the Ford in reverse and then drove forward, striking the Silverado a second time.

The passenger told officers they were not physically injured, according to the report.

Police said Carrion-Lee then got out of the Ford and fled on foot toward Midway Mall. An Elyria police officer located her in a parking lot south of the GetGo and took her into custody without incident.

An employee at GetGo told officers he witnessed the incident and provided a written statement. Police also reviewed surveillance video from the business.

According to the police report, officers said the surveillance footage showed Carrion-Lee intentionally putting the Ford in reverse and striking the Kia.

Carrion-Lee was charged with four counts of felonious assault, two counts of vandalism and disorderly conduct while intoxicated, according to police. She was transported to the Lorain County Jail and was being held without bond pending her initial appearance in Elyria Municipal Court.

Police also issued another adult a minor misdemeanor citation for disorderly conduct. Three juveniles were referred to Lorain County Juvenile Court for disorderly conduct, according to the report.

The surveillance footage obtained from GetGo was uploaded into the Elyria Police Department’s digital evidence system.
