LORAIN — Police have identified the young man killed in Saturday evening’s shooting at Lakeview Park as 18-year-old Isaac Brocco Rivera, a senior at Lorain Success Academy.
Captain Jacob Morris of the Lorain Police Department said officers responded around 6:44 p.m. Saturday, October 18, to the west end of Lakeview Park near 1800 West Erie Avenue after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found Rivera unresponsive in a vehicle with at least one gunshot wound to the head.
Emergency responders transported him to Mercy Health Lorain Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

“It is with a heavy heart that we share that we tragically lost one of our high school students this weekend, Isaac Brocco Rivera, who was a senior of Lorain Success Academy. I’m sorry, but we are not able to share any more details at this time, as the Lorain Police Department investigates the circumstances surrounding his death. Please keep his family in your hearts and prayers during this difficult time.”
Dr. Graham added that the district’s crisis team will provide support for students and staff “for as long as needed” beginning Monday morning.
