ELYRIA, Ohio — An Elyria woman was arrested Monday night after police said she bit a victim during a domestic violence incident, leaving the victim with a serious chest wound.
According to an Elyria Police Department report, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Broad Street at approximately 9:13 p.m. on June 16 for an assault complaint.
The victim told police she had picked up Kylie Parker, 25, in Lorain and was driving her back to Elyria when the two got into an argument inside the vehicle.
According to the report, the victim said Parker became verbally threatening and struck her in the face while she was driving. The victim also told officers Parker bit her hand during a dispute over a cellphone.
Police said the victim reported that Parker then leaned over and bit her chest as hard as she could.
The responding officer documented injuries to the victim, including a swollen and discolored eye, a bleeding bite mark on the hand, and a significant chest wound. According to the report, the chest wound had flesh removed, visible soft tissue, and bleeding.
The victim declined EMS transport and told police she would seek medical treatment herself.
Police said the victim showed officers a cellphone video that substantiated her claims. The video was downloaded into evidence, according to the report.
Parker was later located after returning to the residence on foot. She was taken into custody without incident.
Parker was charged with domestic violence and assault, both listed in the report as first-degree misdemeanors. She was transported to the Lorain County Jail pending arraignment.
The report also states Parker made suicidal statements both at the scene and while being booked into the jail.
