Elyria police say a woman was arrested Sunday night after allegedly assaulting two employees at the McDonald’s on Broad Street.
According to a police report, officers were called to the restaurant around 10:31 p.m. for an assault complaint. They said they arrived to find 37-year-old Stephanie Queen yelling at employees at the front counter.
Witnesses told officers Queen was upset because she believed she had already paid for an online order and had been denied the food. The report states Queen reached over the counter, punched one employee in the right hand, and threw a plastic container at another, hitting her in the left arm.
Manager Anthony Rivera told police the order never went through due to a payment failure. He said he offered Queen a free sandwich from her original order, but she continued to yell and demand all the food she had ordered.
Officers said Queen initially refused to identify herself, claiming she didn’t have to since she hadn’t been read her Miranda rights. After being told she was legally required to identify herself, she gave her last name.
Police said Queen was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and one count of failure to disclose personal information. She was taken to the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office.
Both employees told police they wish to pursue charges.
