Lorain Attorney’s Domestic Violence Case Continues with Modified Protection Order

The domestic violence case against Lorain attorney Mark E. Stephenson remains active following an August 11, 2025, court appearance where he signed a modified temporary protection order before Visiting Judge Mark Comstock.

Stephenson, 70, pleaded not guilty on July 16 to a first-degree misdemeanor domestic violence charge. He was released on a $2,500 personal recognizance bond that same day, when the original protection order was issued at his arraignment.

A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for September 8 at 1 p.m. in Courtroom 2 of Lorain Municipal Court.

Stephenson is represented by Lorain criminal defense attorney Michael J. Camera. “I have lawyers willing to attest to the good character of Mark Stephenson,” Camera said. “Anyone who knows him knows he would never harm his wife—or any woman, for that matter. This is a non-event.”
