Authorities Investigate Fatal Hit-Skip Crash of Lorain Woman on Ohio 2 Near SR 60

VERMILION TWP — Authorities are investigating a fatal pedestrian hit-skip crash that occurred early Sunday morning on State Route 2 near State Route 60 in Vermilion Township.

According to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened around 3:15 a.m. in the westbound lanes of SR 2 between the Erie-Lorain county line and SR 60. Investigators say a 57-year-old Lorain woman was struck and killed.

Emergency responders from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, Vermilion Police Department, and Vermilion Township Fire Department were on scene. At this time, authorities are still working to identify the driver involved.
