Vermilion — The Lorain County Office on Aging hosted its annual Aging Well Senior Expo on Tuesday, October 8, 2025, at German’s Villa in Vermilion. The event drew hundreds of seniors, caregivers, and local resource providers together for a day of education, connection, and support.
Executive Director Nicolle Bellmore Pierse said the expo serves as a one-stop resource for older adults and their families. “This is an event we hold every fall so that our seniors have a place to connect with vendors, resources, and support services to age successfully in the community,” she said.
More than 50 organizations participated, including University Hospitals, the Lorain County Recorder’s Office, Legal Aid, Home Instead, and several local libraries. Attendees were able to access health screenings, learn about home-care options, and receive free antique appraisals and resource materials.
Pierse estimated around 500 people attended and said this year’s move to Vermilion was intentional. “We came out this way to reach more residents on the western side of the county and the Vermilion area,” she explained. The event is typically held at Lorain County Community College, but rotating locations helps extend outreach.
Held each October to coincide with Medicare open enrollment, the expo connects residents with agencies that can assist with enrollment, coverage, and other aging-related needs. “Our agency is the designated resource for older adults,” Pierse said. “We provide information, support, and advocacy so seniors can access the help they need.”
