The Elyria Police Department is investigating a strong-arm robbery that occurred in the parking lot of PNC Bank, located at 405 Midway Boulevard.
According to Chief of Police James Welsh, the incident did not involve a bank robbery. The victim, a bank customer, was approached while returning to their vehicle. The suspect reportedly shoved the victim and used force to steal cash before fleeing the scene on foot. No weapon was displayed during the encounter.
Police say officers are actively investigating and pursuing leads. At this time, authorities do not believe there is any ongoing danger to the public.
