ELYRIA — An Elyria woman is facing multiple felony charges after police reported she admitted to concealing crack cocaine inside her body during a traffic stop that led to her arrest on an outstanding warrant.

According to Elyria Police Department records, Heather L. Anderson, 38, was arrested at approximately 4:13 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, following a traffic stop near East Avenue and 7th Street. Officers identified Anderson as the registered owner of the vehicle and confirmed she had an active warrant issued through the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office.
Police reported Anderson was taken into custody and transported to the Lorain County Jail. During the jail intake process, officers said Anderson admitted she had concealed crack cocaine inside her body prior to entering the facility.
According to the police report, the drugs were recovered during a private search conducted at the jail and later tested positive for crack cocaine. The substance reportedly weighed approximately 8.8 grams and was logged into evidence.

As a result of the discovery, Anderson was charged with illegal conveyance of drugs, tampering with evidence, possession of a controlled substance, and obstructing official business. Police noted the additional charges stemmed from the concealment of the drugs during transport and the intake process.
The traffic stop originated after officers conducted a routine LEADS check on the vehicle and identified the outstanding warrant. Police reported Anderson denied having any illegal items on her person prior to transport.
Anderson was booked into the Lorain County Jail, where she remained without bond pending her initial appearance in Elyria Municipal Court.
